Imr 4350 load data 260 remington

I'm unsure if 260 Rem is larger or smaller in case capacity than 6.5x55, but Hornady #3 lists 3031/100s in 6.5x55 as 33.8 @2500fps to 38.3 @ 2800fps. That should get you in the ballpark anyway. I've used 3031 from 22-250 thru 35 Whelen with good results. It's a very useful powder. Long & crunchy, but useful.IMR 4350 is primarily used for the newest short magnum cartridges in the industry but also used for silhouette shooting. Also for magnums with light to medium bullet weights, IMR 4350 is the best choice. Important Information: Do not exceed the loads displayed in the reloaders guide. Availability of DuPont's Improved Military Rifle (IMR) powders encouraged commercial release of the .257 Roberts using the 57mm-long Mauser case in 1934. Release of IMR 4350 in 1940 and availability of surplus 4831 powder salvaged from Oerlikon 20mm cannon cartridges after World War II greatly improved performance of the full-length .25-06 case.

I have some good loads for my Remington 700 30-06 using IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 with 180gr Remington PSP CoreLok. I have the components and some time so I thought I would try some test loads using three different powders. H-4831SC, W-760 and Re-19 and the 180gr Rem CorLok bullets. I am looking for performance and max load charge.

Remington and Federal cartridge both load a 120gr and 140gr load for the .260, but neither one of them really makes use of the 260’s potential. The lack of match ammo really hurts us, but the 120gr ballistic tip loads do okay at long range. But recently the mid sized ammo makers have been making the push for good 260 match loads.

Regardless of bullet weight, the soft-recoiling .260 is a great choice for women, slight-of-build hunters, and young shooters. My favorite powder for the .260 Remington in Alliant's Reloder 19. The SAAMI Maximum Average Pressure (MAP) for the .260 Rem. is 60,000 psi. I have two 280's, one a fifty+ yr old Rem. Model 721 w/24" factory barrel, the other a 15 yr. old Rem. Mod. 700 Mountain Rifle. The 721 will shoot bug holes - best group ever was .294 five shot group at 100 yds, with 53.6 gr. IMR 4831 and reloaded Rem cases, Sierra 160 gr. SBT's, CCI LR primer, seated 0.015 off the lands.

Six powders from Alliant and IMR all worked well in the 7mm Remington Magnum. Handloaders always welcome new powders in their endless effort to improve the velocity and accuracy of their loads. So in anticipation of stepping up the performance of my 7mm Remington Magnum, new powders have been tested, including Alliant Reloder 17, 23 and 33; and ... Anything in the 4350 burn rate is ideal for the 260 Rem. Varget would be decent with the lighter bullets, also. 4064 would work, but you will not get the higher speeds, like with the slower powders.

OLD IMR 4064 + .260 Remington Guys, my Dad have me an old (probably 20-25 years old) can of 4064 IMR to use with my .260 Remington (because I can't find a decent powder in stock anywhere in northern Utah). Jul 23, 2013 · Today I shot my best group ever with my Rem 700 .30-06. The load was 165 gr Accubonds & 60 gr IMR 4350. The bullet is seated 10 mils off the lands. 5 shots at 100 yds measured 0.608 inch. It would have been much less but for the first shot (upper left). I'm thrilled with these results, but I'm a bit concerned about the pressure of these loads. Apr 06, 2016 · Load data for the new IMR 4166 was taken from Hodgdon’s 2015 Annual reloading manual, and in increments of .3 grains or less, loads were worked up from 24.0 through 25.1 grains of IMR 4166. The manual allows for stiffer charges, but at 25.1 the load begins to compress.

Jan 05, 2011 · Comparing it to the .260 Rem., both rounds' overall lengths were established to fit today's standard short-action rifle (about 2.8 inches). The 6.5 Creedmoor's case (formed by simply necking down the .30 TC) is a tenth of an inch shorter than the .260's, has a sharper shoulder angle and less body taper, and it has a full one-caliber neck.
I'm looking for load recommendations for 160 gr Sierra Gamekings for my 280 Rem with IMR-4350, I'm starting with 48.5 gr and another load with 49.5 gr. I ran a couple loads with IMR-4831 last year with less than mediocre results.

Mar 09, 2008 · The second load that I shot a lot of was with the Sierra 80g kissing lands, Win case, Fed 210, 42.0g of IMR 4064 at 3500 fps, work up to this load, start off at 40.0g and go up. This is a great 500 yard load! I killed a lot of coyotes with both of these loads.
I load slightly lighter bullets (100 and 110 grain pills) for my .25-06 with good results from both 4350 and 4831 if I am shooting mid-range velocity or higher velocity loads. With the heavier bullets my .25-06 only likes lighter to mid-range velocity loads.
